Websense expands SaaS footprints in the region


Websense has expanded its global footprint to offer cloud based Security-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions to Indian companies, facilitating locally hosted security solutions necessary for data compliance. This new facility supports cloud and hybrid web security as well as cloud and hybrid email security, delivering protection within the country.

This announcement is to offer Indian customers a highly scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure with multiple ISP connections, and redundant power and cooling so there is no single point of failure. Email is routed to a least two datacenters and sufficient capacity is maintained to handle traffic even in the event of natural disaster causing a catastrophic failure of a data center, providing a 99.999% availability service level agreement.

The Guwahati railway station, in Assam which has always been a target of militant outfits, is soon going to have an Integrated Security System. The Union railway ministry will fund the new security system, which is likely to be commissioned in October this year. The Northeast Frontier Railway is implementing the security system to ensure passenger safety and to avert terrorist attacks.

Modern security equipment such as baggage scanners, closedcircuit closedcircuit television (CCTV) cameras, bomb blankets, door-frame metal detectors, hand-held metal detectors and explosive detection and disposal system will be part of this security upgrade programme. The chief public relation officer of NFR, S. Hajong, said the new security system is likely to become operational within the next three months. At present, the station has 16 CCTVs covering all the platforms.

Kaspersky Lab has hosted the seventh partner meet of its 2012 versions of home user products in Delhi which is among the nineteen targeted key cities. The product was initially launched on the 6th August in Kolkata. The new versions of Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security are designed to provide Internet users with maximum protection and convenience. The company which has already invested two million USD, further aims to invest one million USD on its marketing and brand positioning.
